Grass Cutting at the Parish Field

Whatley and Chantry Parish Council are seeking quotations for the grass cutting work in the Parish Recreational Field for the 2025-2026 season.
The area to be cut is approximately 1.9 acres, made up of the half the main recreational field (1.6 acres) and the picnic area (0.32 acres). The remainder of the recreational field is left as wildlife meadow. The first cut will be late March/early April and the final cut late October/early November according to seasonal growth. The remaining cuts, typically 13 based on previous years activity, will be at the contractor’s discretion taking into account growth of grass and weather conditions. Ideally there should be a minimum of 2 weeks between cuts.
On each occasion the grass is to be cut to a height of 50 mm, cut evenly and cleanly. All cut grass is to be dispersed evenly across the area and not left in mounds or rows. Each cut will include strimming along the fence line, around the play equipment and picnic furniture.
The initial contract will be for 2 years 2025-26 and 2026-27 with the option of a third year. The quote should detail the price per cut/visit for the first and second year of the contract.
If you would like to submit a quotation for this work, please email your quote to the Parish Clerk clerk@whatleyandchantry.co.uk by 5pm on Friday 28th March 2025. If you have any queries regarding the contract, nature of the required work or other details please email Jon Scott at cllr.scott@whatleyandchantry.co.uk
